For your seniors, where are you applying?

I've applied to:

Hampden-Sydney College (1st choice)
Roanoke College (2nd choice)
Averett University (safety)
United States Coast Guard Academy (reach, but the more I think about it I really would prefer Sydney)

I got my acceptance letter from Averett today. My application to Roanoke was lost in the mail so I'm still waiting on that to get there, and I'll find out about HSC in December.

Roanoke sent me about 15 pounds of unsolicited mail.  The bastards.

Nate

I see no correlation between USCGA and Sydney...

RoMi

Northeastern
UMass Amherst

Something related to cellular biology, I believe.  I forget exactly what it is.  If you end up going there, I'll give you his name and maybe you can ask him!

He graduated a year before me.

I have friends going to UMass Amherst, my compsci teacher went there, and it's probably my top school right now.

Apparently they have a really good computer science program, as well as it not being very difficult to get into the school (I didn't put nearly enough effort into school the past few years.... so that helps). A recomendation from my teacher who went there, in the field I'm looking to study in, will probably help a lot. And it also satisfies my last requirement: It's cheap, especially the tuition for those of us who already live in MA.

Wow...me too.  Except my super smart asian kid friend is going into pharmacutical science, not medicine.

I said medicine as more of a general term.. he doesn't know what he wants to do within the realm but he knows it's where he wants to be. He's expressed interest in being a doctor, a surgeon, a pathologist, a gynecologist, or going into pharmacuticals. I'm pretty sure the gynecologist part was a joke, but with this kid I can never be sure.

You might be right about that, Joe.

I know that the idea of going to a state university is unappetizing, but I have to say ASU (Arizona State) is rock solid on a lot of stuff.
-- Psychology program, in social and clinical subfields, is incredibly strong.
-- Mechanical engineering
-- Biomedical sciences

We're one of only two Research I public universities in the country, which means we bring in the highest amount of grant money for research.  With the Biodesign Institute just being completed, we're also now the largest biomedical research institution in the greater Phoenix metro area.  ASU's campus has 60,000 students on the main and another 15,000 students at the extended campus, expecting to reach a total enrollment of over 100,000 by 2016.

Just thought I'd share.  :)
