I finally quit a few months ago. According to my account history I have spent just under $1000 on this game since 2005. I had something retarded like 400 days played across my characters, so I managed to only pay about 10 cents an hour for my enjoyment! That's almost as cheap as the chinese rates!

Yeah, I see so many people riding with shorts and t-shirt... me, I ride with pants, mesh jacket, leather gloves, etc. all the necessary protective gear the motorcycle safety course I took recommended.

Yeah, I can't stress enough, wear the proper fucking gear if you are going to ride. Not just a helmet. My mom hangs out with a bunch of biker types and I can't tell you how many have died/ended up with serious disfigurements in the past ~10 years or so. Jeans WILL NOT protect you from losing all the skin on your legs.

I just installed new video card drivers on windows, and didn't have to uninstall the old ones and then reboot into some shitty resolution to install the new ones. What is this madness?! Also the fact that I'm just realizing this is possible means I probably haven't updated the drivers for on a video card in like 5 years.

The connection between self-cherishing and self-enslaving is not so clear to me. Care to elaborate? (Also, being self-enslaved isn't the only thing remarkable about being remarkable. Generally there's something else there.)

Self-cherishing narrows your perspective from the altruistic collective reality. Self-cherishing makes it too easy to become a slave to your self's endless, transient, unfulfilling desires.

We all have an equal right to happiness, and the happiness of many is undeniably more important than the happiness of one. You become remarkable not by chasing the self's desire to be unusually great, but by sacrificing the self for the greater good (which is, more often than not, directly or indirectly beneficial to the self. AKA being wisely-selfish)

I wish could quickly articulate these abstract thoughts more clearly.

Grammatical fail in a full sentence:
"A TA should refrain from dating or close personal relationships with students in one's section."
Sounds retarded.

"his or her" is the standard gender-neutral way. Waiting for GLBT orgs to start qqing about it.

"As a TA, one should refrain from dating or close personal relationships with students in one's section."
I'm generally pretty terrible with grammar, but I don't like "his or her" and would tend towards avoiding it in formal writing even if it is acceptable.

Here is an excerpt from an email I just received regarding applying for a teaching assistant position at the law school:

*  refrain from dating or close personal relationships with students in his/her section.

What's a good way to phrase that without pronouns? "A teaching assistant should refrain from a relationship with students in the section that teaching assistant is assigned to"?
Yeah...I guess that sounds better.

In short, I agree.  I hate shit like Steam and Live.  I want to punch the asshole who thought it'd be a good idea.

Steam is minimally intrusive compared to live, and at least offers a decent service as a convenient way to buy games. Also Joe, RealID sucks, and is stupid, and should probably die in some kind of fire. I'm pretty sure I made a thread complaining about that too!

Games suck these days. Too many stupid bits.
