Connection times out
« on: May 12, 2008, 11:17:11 am »
Just installed the bot, changed bnls server and hit connect. Im on ubuntu.
This is what happens?

[17:08:54.866] ERROR: Connect failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out
[17:12:47.637] INFO: Trying BNLS server: bnls.valhallalegends.com
[17:12:47.641] INFO: Resolving ip for server: europe.battle.net
[17:12:47.664] INFO: Resolves to 8 different addresses
[17:12:47.666] INFO: Choosing address 2 [europe.battle.net/213.248.106.67]
[17:12:47.669] INFO: Attempting to connect
[17:12:52.677] ERROR: Connect failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out

Any idea why?

Use hdx.jbls.org instead of bnls.valhallalegends.com.

Use hdx.jbls.org instead of bnls.valhallalegends.com.
The setting is somewhere in "global settings".

I already tried with several different BNLS servers. I still get the same error message.

[04:16:38.764] INFO: Trying BNLS server: hdx.jbls.org
[04:16:38.774] INFO: Resolving ip for server: europe.battle.net
[04:16:38.811] INFO: Resolves to 8 different addresses
[04:16:38.814] INFO: Choosing address 7 [europe.battle.net/213.248.106.67]
[04:16:38.826] INFO: Attempting to connect
[04:16:43.841] ERROR: Connect failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out

As far as I can see, the connection problem occurs when trying to connect to europe.battle.net.

Edit: Ok, im using a Starcraft cdkey, reading some other posts, it would seem that Warden doesnt allow SC cdkey? Or did i misunderstand?

I have no idea what Trust is talking about, I got rid of his posts.

For some reason, the connection from your computer to Battle.net is timing out. That's either a routing or a firewall problem, generally, I don't really know what to tell you or how to fix it..

Thanks, I had somehow managed to forward the wrong port  :-\

But... Now when i connect, i join the default channel, but after like 1 second i get this:

[11:27:13.476] Unknown packet received:
[11:27:13.499] Buffer contents:
ff 5e 29 00 16 9c ea ff c5 b9 e4 55 43 cd c0 b3    .^)........UC...
f3 a7 e2 2f a4 0d 3e b4 89 db 1f f7 b0 26 91 89    .../..>......&..
73 27 9a b3 7e 69 f9 9f ab                         s'..~i...
Length: 41

And after that message I can't do anything, except for reconnecting

Stop using StarCraft as your client.

Yeah, what you're seeing is Warden. It's Battle.net's anti-hack code that hasn't been implemented in JavaOp2 yet. I'm not sure which clients have to use it, but I'm certain that Warcraft II wouldn't.

If you must use starcraft, try BNU-Bot. Read the disclaimer on the download page about starcraft, though.
