I don't care what anyone else does to themselves, smoking included. If they want to fuck themselves up with drugs, unprotected sex, etc etc... That's cool. If someone feels the need to do it in the first place, isn't it assumed that they won't listen to any reasonable arguments from people telling them not to? There's so much "education" on the matters in schools these days, people are making educated enough decisions to be able to decide what they do and don't do to themselves.

Don't know about the laws by where you live, but it's pretty strict here to not allow smoking within 20 feet of the entrance of a public building.

Smokers have had so much of their freedom taken away from them, they're stuck in the "smoking sections" most places. If you don't like being around smokers, don't go into their sections. And if you're going to walk through a group of smokers, don't cover your mouth and walk like you have a stick up your ass, and then sigh after you get through like "oh my god that was the worst thing I ever had to do". You'll get over it.

It would be nice if people took them seriously, I know this is usually just a subset of the total assholes and not all smokers, but kids at my school literally lean up against the "Don't smoke here!" signs in front of the building and smoke /sigh

"Smoking sections" are retarded, it's like having a "shitting section", where I can sit 10 ft from you, with a wall between, and stink up the whole place. Many smokers don't seem to understand that they're being assholes when they're smoking beside a non-smoker. It should be common courtesy not to do that.

I definitely don't make a big deal about it, but I tend to cover my nose when I walk past a smoker.  The smell literally makes me sick.  It's really annoying to me when someone lights up in the middle of the plaza with hundreds of people surrounding them.  It'd be nice if they could just go sit somewhere where there aren't so many damned people around.
