Well, you chose to do pure combat, there's bound to be disadvantages :P

Also, intimidation is done with Charisma.  Charisma isn't only how good you look, it's about how you carry yourself to influence others. :P

Well, charisma would be how well you say that phrase and how believable you make it.  I don't see why you couldn't do a "weapons display" to intimidate them.
