So because I liked Starship Troopers so much, me and my friend split the cost of the miniatures game. He got the bugs, I got the humans. There are 16 mobile infantry, which are plastic and come unassembled. They are 12 pieces each, and I finally put them all together:

I may or may not paint them, we'll see. I actually kinda like them now, though. :)

Yeah, but only because you're done putting them together. Wait until you start painting them! I'm sure you'll hate them until you're done again.

Wow, you're wasting your future-seeing gifts on a two-bit forum when you could be helping stop crime! (or commit it...)

BigAznDaddy

Paint them. they would look totally cool

I don't mean this as an insult to these games or you iago, but I really don't understand the attraction to these types of 'build it yourself' games.

If I want to build something, I get a model (or in my case, I open up my mouser catalog).  If I want to play a game, I want to play now, not in a few days :P

What it really comes down to is a hobby. I buy all kinds of miniatures I never intend to even use for a game. Why? Because I enjoy painting them. If I can use them for a game eventually, that's a plus.

I actually bought a box of Light Mobile Infantry, which are the guys from the movies (the ones above are from the cartoon). They come pre-assembled and just have to be painted. This is a good thing because it saves me a lot of frustration, but you also lose out of some creativity.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I do it cuz it's fun. :)

True, but I have lots of guys that'll look cool. It'll likely take a sum time of about 32 - 48 hours to paint all 16 of them. I might just paint half, and see how I feel about them.

or paint a few every week and gradually do it :P

iago

Maybe "a couple" every week, for a few months.

I actually started painting a Call of Cthulhu miniature last night, it's a haggard old woman breast feeding a baby. I liked it for some reason. :)

Here's my first shot at painting one:

The orange looks really bad in the photograph, but it's a flamethrower.

Lmfao!  You're crazy iago.  The link that you gave us in your first post isn't working for me, so the only thing I saw was the guy you posted a picture of.

I think you have toooooooooooooo much time on your hands. :P  With that amount of time I am surprised you aren't on WoW! Lol. :P

Either way, I think the guy looks good.  Good job. :D
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Man, I totally moved that picture like a half hour ago. I forgot it was linked here! Here's the new link: http://www.javaop.com/~ron/images/pictures/miniatures/unpainted/mi-unpainted.jpg

I don't think it's too much time, though. I don't play computer games or watch tv, I do something that I consider productive like program, paint, and read. I enjoy it far more than computer games, and when I'm done I have something to show for it.

Thanks :)

Here's a couple new ones:

Notice the fear in his eyes? That was totally intentional.

(not really :) )

LMFAO @ his eyes!  Good choice of colors.  Green is my favorite color. :D

Thanks! It's mine, too, but me and my friend debated a lot as to whether I should paint them grey or green. I decided to paint one unit (8 of them) green and the other 8 blue/grey.
