Yeah, that was literally on the street I live on (though about 2 hours west).

I don't think a gun would have helped, considering the person had already been stabbed multiple times before anybody had noticed. Not to mention he was on the back of a bus filled with panicking passengers -- seems like the perfect time to accidentally shoot an innocent person.

So what ended up happening was:
- The guy who would have died anyways died
- The guy who did the stabbing was captured (and hopefully given treatment -- you don't stab somebody 60 times in a normal state of mind)
- Nobody else was hurt

I don't see any possible better outcome.

<edit> Wow, in my initial shock at it all, I hadn't even realized the obvious: zombies!

But yeah, besides making the stupid jokes and zombie things and such, this does suck.

I wouldn't be even a little surprised if it turns out that I'm somehow connected to either the attacker or victim (this city rarely has more than 2 degrees of separation)
