Yeah, I was trying to paraphrase that. I wasn't entirely sure if Ergot was alluding to that or not, so I kept my response generic. :D

That's not a problem with tomatoes, that's a problem with your knife!  Tomatoes slice easily with a sharp one.

I've tried several knives, both sharp and serrated, none work well. Maybe we have tough Winnipeg tomatoes here..

It's not that funny to me, mainly because I disagree with it alot. It's a cute idea, but I have no difficulty cutting tomatoes and I love them.

Holy crap. This strip's been up for 800 seconds and it's already the most controversial thing I've ever written, beating out comics about cunnilingus, the Obama endorsement, and my making 4chan tiny on the map of the internet. It turns out everyone and their mother has a fruit opinion, and every one of those opinions is now in my inbox.

Just remember to keep some perspective. If you think watermelon is delicious, and I think it's only so-so, the important thing is that we each find something we like. Who's to say whose taste is right?

I think it's pretty interesting that so many people disagree with his placements enough to bring it up.  When my friend linked it to me last night, he followed up by saying "I don't agree with his position on X..." and then brought up a bunch of similar claims.

I agree, though, oranges are more delicious than pineapples.
